The reality star is also campaigning for fellow young women to ditch lip fillers for good – declaring: ‘The natural look is definitely in now, the big lips are dated’
The Only Way Is Essex star Yazmin Oukhellou has dissolved her lip fillers and returned her pout to its natural form after fearing she looked like a ‘duck’.
The 27-year-old reality star has splashed a meaty £11,500 on surgery over the years – having work done on her boobs, nose and mouth.
But now she will be looking a little more natural as she has taken action to remove filler from her lips in order to make herself look a little less wild.
Yazmin also argues that her over-plumped pout meant people failed to take her seriously – leaving her anxious that her future career plans would fail as people wouldn’t want to work with her.
Speaking to The Sun, the Towie babe says she took her love for lip filler too far and decided to take action following a blunt comment from her parents at a family wedding.
She said: “I kept overfilling my lips getting more and more put in. I started looking stupid and like a duck.
“The final straw for me was when I went to a family wedding and my mum and dad said ‘the lip filler is getting a bit much now’.”
Accepting her future plans could be derailed by her love of filler, she added: “So I wanted to strip it back and be a bit more natural. Especially as I want to do more outside of Towie so I want to get taken more seriously.”
Yaz went on to argue that plumped up lips are now off-trend and that other reality stars should follow her example and ditch the fillers for good.
She said: “The natural look is definitely in now, the big lips are dated.”
The suggestion might come as a surprise to Love Island star Faye Winter who stunned fans on Wednesday when she revealed she too had removed her lip fillers – before explaining she is going to have them re-filled.
The star took action after the fillers in her lips gathered to one side, giving her an un-even pout.
She told fans via Instagram while showing off puff-free pout: “Yes, these are my natural lips at the moment guys, thank you so much for the messages saying that you like it without the filler.
“But you know me, I’ll say it as it is and I prefer it with filler.
“So I’m going to take all of your lovely comments and throw them out the back window of the car because I’m having filler put back in, is the bottom line.”
Reality stars have been under fire this year for glamorising superficial appearances – with searches for lip filler appointments increasing by 37% during the 2021 series of Love Island.
Ashton Collins, the director of Save Face – a government-approved register for non-surgical cosmetic practitioners – hit out at the Love Island back in July.
He said: “We’ve seen a 37 per cent rise in people searching for lip fillers on our website since Love Island began.”
And he went on to blast ITV – which also airs The Only Way Is Essex – for failing to include health warnings ahead of scenes of Love Island stars Chloe Burrows, Liberty Poole, Sharon Gaffka and Faye discussing their love for cosmetic procedures.
