Alana Spencer’s Ridiculously Rich café has been ranked last out of 132 Welsh restaurants.

Since it opened on the Llandudno promenade back in May of this year it has been hit by multiple mixed reviews.

The Apprentice star opened the café just a week after opening another in Cardiff and has since opened a number of other stores.

Some people have loved the new addition to the town but others have criticised things from the prices on the menu to its bold blue exterior.

Just six months after the store opened it has finished last out of 132 restaurants in the same area in a TripAdvisor table as of Friday, November 5.

It also finished 59th place out of a possible 60 cafés.

Out of 31 reviews on the site, it has an average of 2.5 out of 5 stars when it comes to reviews.

Only six of the reviews were rating very good and excellent and 18 were terrible or poor.

But one of the five star reviews from October said it was ‘well worth the stop’.

The person said: “We stopped in our way to North Wales. The chips and cake were delicious and good price. Well worth a visit thank you!”

Another recent review said: “From looking at prices I get the impression you need to be ridiculously rich to afford them.

“We had an ice cream, 50p extra to have it in a very dry cone. Although a nice sunny day no tables had been put out.

“I was the only one being served but for some reason, it took a few minutes and involved moving between hatches to order and pay and then collect order from the same person.”

But a one star review from just two weeks ago said: “Not worth it. After a brisk walk along prom I was looking forward to a hot coffee and sandwich. No welcome or smile to be had, and filthy ‘uniform’ a bit of a put-off, but ordered a latte and bacon sandwich (£7.30) regardless.

“Latte warm and sandwich was awful…doughy bap and extremely fatty bacon making me feel sick after the first bite. no napkin either!

“The seagulls enjoyed the bacon bap and the drains enjoyed the latte. Will not return or recommend. have given a one-star rating as couldn’t go any lower.”

On average people rated Ridiculously Rich 1.5 out of five for service, two out of five for food and two out of five for service.

Lord Alan Sugar used to have shares in Alana’s business but she bought them back in 2019 so she could go at it alone.

She admitted that opening cafés wasn’t really the initial plan and instead she planned to sell cakes at events and festivals but this wasn’t possible due to Covid restrictions.

Alana has had to readapt her ideas for her businesses and is focusing on her four Ridiculously Rich stores.
