Professor Noel Fitzpatrick has shared the highlights of his working day to his social media fans after reuniting seven dogs with their owners in one day.
Each of the canine clients had undergone operations in the week – a terrifying time for pet parents – but following successful surgeries, the Supervet and his team were able to hand the patients back over to their owners on a busy Sunday.
Posting a photo to his Instagram account, the 53-year-old vet said: “After a week of surgery there is nothing better in the world than to reunite families.
“Today I had the honour of reuniting seven families and the unbridled joy of their love brought sunshine to me and the entire team at Fitzpatrick Referrals.”
Noel has invented over 30 new techniques to offer animals a second chance, including world-firsts, as well as being world-renowned for his prosthetics.
He added: “Thank you so much everybody in the FR team. Some of these patients had procedures not available anywhere else on planet earth — and this is why we do what we do. Because they aren’t patients – they’re family members.”
The celebrity vet went on to share each dog’s story on his Instagram story with his 281k followers.
Bear, a German shepherd, was snoozing in the boot of the car with his cone on as Noel explained he’d been ‘dragged under a car and sheared off his wrist’, which the Fitzpatrick Referrals team fixed with a ‘special external fixation frame’.
Fetch. Chase. Eat. Sleep. Repeat. is a new podcast from TeamDogs which takes a sideways look at what it’s REALLY like bringing puppies into your life.
Every week hosts Hannah Jones and Karen Price will be joined by celebrity dog owners like Strictly Come Dancing’s Shirley Ballas and Coronation Street actress Samia Longchambon to chew over the adventures – and misadventures! – of puppy parenting.
There will be a new episode every Tuesday and you can download it from wherever you get your podcasts from.
The dog pod is brought to you by Pooch and Mutt, who are pack leaders when it comes to healthy pet food for the body and mind. Pooch and Mutt – which offers vet-recommended, naturally hypoallergenic recipes – is offering podcast listeners 25 per cent off on their website.

Bull-breed Roxy had undergone a custom-made total hip replacement, while Hattie the chocolate Labrador had a customised total knee replacement.
Charlie and his owners posed with Noel at the back of their car after the dog had a custom plate made to repair his right knee following failed surgery at another practice.
Noel noted that Charlie is the ‘only dog in the world’ with the highly specialised implant.
Willow had visited the Supervet in 2015 for a left hip replacement, and returned to the world-class surgeon for his right hip replacement.
Meanwhile, Labrador Baxter was reunited with his owners after he was taken in with ‘big holes in both his knees’, which the team fixed with custom cartilage replacing plugs made of metal and plastic.
The final patient to be reunited with their human was Dimitri, who had a bone tumour on his right forearm, which Noel replaced with a bionic prosthetic.
And when the Supervet isn’t saving lives, he’s inspiring others, with his new children’s book duo out this week, on Thursday, October 28.
The book – Vetman and his Bionic Animal Clan – sees the character come up with bionic solutions for the animal friends he makes along the way.
Noel has dedicated the story to his late border terrier, Keira, who died in September.
He told The Mirror: “The book features a dedication to Kiera, who was the first creature in the world to hear the whole of Vetman to see if it made any sense. I think she stayed around just long enough to help me get Vetman into the world.”
