It’s well known that Strictly Come Dancing star Tom Fletcher is part of a star-studded family, but few know that his sister is a massive theatre sensation
Tom Fletcher isn’t the only famous face in his star-studded family.
The Strictly Come Dancing star, who is wowing us on the dance floor each week with pro partner Amy Dowden, has a sister who is an actress, singer and author.
Tom rose to fame as a member of much-loved noughties boyband McFly, banging out hits such as Five Colours In Her Hair, Star Girl and It’s All About You.
He has written or co-written 10 UK number one singles, a number of children’s books and was part of super group McBusted, while wife Giovanna Fletcher is a podcast queen and won last year’s I’m A Celebrity.
Tom is part of a showbiz dynasty, but it was actually younger sister Carrie Hope Fletcher who was thrust into the limelight first.
As a child, Carrie appeared in an advert for Honey Nut Cheerios with Kelsey Grammar and several short TV roles, including Jenny in CITV show Dog and Duck.

At the age of just nine she made her West End debut as Young Eponine in Les Miserables, later going on to play the older version of the character, becoming the only British actress to do so.
Carrie has also appeared in stage productions of Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and is now starring in the title role of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cinderella.
She has also gone on the national arena tour of Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds and played the role of Wednesday Adams in the UK tour of The Addams Family.
Tom did actually attempt to follow in his sister’s footsteps 10 years ago, but was forced to turn down a role in Les Misérables.
The singer was going to play the role of Marius in the West End production, but it clashed with a McFly tour.
Tom said: “I always wanted to play Marius in Les Miserables, I actually got offered the role but I had to commit to do it for six months, and as that meant I wouldn’t have been able to tour with McFly I turned it down.
“But then that was the year Harry did Strictly and Dougie did I’m A Celebrity, so I could have done it after all!”
Tom’s talented sister has also written five novels and a book based on her life, a book called: All I Know Now: Wonderings and Reflections on Growing Up Gracefully, which was a Number 1 bestseller in the UK.
That’s not all as Carrie has produced two singles, performed the official 2012 Summer Olympics mascots song with her bother and released her first solo album in 2018.
Her most successful YouTube vid, which features her singing live with Tom covering his song ‘Love Is on the Radio’, has 1.5million views.
When he was announced for this year’s Strictly, Tom shared a snap of the moment he told Carrie he taking part in the show on Instagram.
Carrie was clearly unable to hide her true emotions as according to Tom she “just burst out laughing in my face”.
Although she was a lot nicer when she posted the snaps on her own Instagram, saying: “This was my reaction when @tomfletcher told me he was gonna be on strictly. I genuinely thought he was joking!
“But I cannot wait to see him dance his socks off!!”
