Strictly Come Dancing stars reunite for celeb-studded charity fundraiser

Former head judge Arlene Phillips and Anton Du Beke are joining forces away from Strictly Come Dancing for a new charity event to raise crucial funds

Arlene Phillips and Anton Du Beke are getting back together for a great cause

Strictly Come Dancing legends Dame Arlene Phillips and Anton Du Beke will be reuniting to raise money for a massive charity drive next year.

The duo, will be heading to Manchester to judge glitzy event Shall We Dance? – an ‘unforgettable evening of music, dining and dancing’.

Former judge Arlene, 75, was one of the original cast members of Strictly Come Dancing when the show launched in 2004. She remained on the show until 2008.

During that time, she got used to scoring fan favourite Anton, who is one of the last remaining original stars of the show, having been promoted to the judges’ panel.

So now they’re going to be side-by-side, there should be a lot to catch up on!

Arlene and Anton will be acting as judges on a special panel, alongside Lisa Riley. who was a Strictly contestant in 2012.

The big dance event will be held at Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse on June 22nd, 2022, with dozens of celebrity guests already confirmed to be attending or taking part.

Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley, who participated on Strictly with Johannes Radebe in 2019, is one of the event organisers, alongside planner Liz Taylor.

She will host the event alongside Eamonn Holmes, with Sally Lindsey in charge of post-dane interviews.

Take That’s Howard Donald will be joining the ultimate Manchester party as the DJ.

Dozens of Catherine’s pals will be there to help raise as much money as possible, including many Strictly and Corrie names.

This includes: Katie McGlynn – the Sinead Tinker actress who was second eliminated from this year’s Strictly; Ruth Langsford – Loose Women legend who famously fell on the dancefloor while partnered with Anton; Brooke Vincent – the Corrie star turned Dancing On Ice finalist; and Jenny McAlpine, best known as Weatherfield’s Fiz Stape and I’m A Celeb pro.

All the money raised will go to phenomenally good causes – being split across five major charities. Alzheimer’s Society, Leukaemia UK, and The Seashell Trust have been announced as the first three.
