‘So obvious!’ Rhys Stephenson leaves pro dancer frustrated at mistake | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Strictly Come Dancing is back on BBC One tonight and the contestants are more than halfway through the competition. CBBC presenter Rhys Stephenson and his partner Nancy Xu have been trying to perfect Rhys’s frame. Professional danger and judge Gary Edwards spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk about one of his unnoticed mistakes.

Strictly Come Dancing fans are getting excited as the competition is getting tougher with each couple who gets sent home.

Last week saw a tough dance-off between Olympian Adam Peaty and TV chef Tilly Ramsay.

The dance-off caused a stir amongst fans, with many believing neither of them should have been in the bottom two.

Sadly it was Adam who got sent home, meaning any one of the remaining stars could be next.

Rhys and Nancy have had a tough time in the competition as Rhys is known to struggle with his frame.

The judges have raised the issue a number of times, but pro dancer Gary Edwards believes they have missed a vital error.

The Dancing With The Stars expert told Express.co.uk: “I don’t understand why the judges or his partner or anyone isn’t telling him about his left hand.

“He’s got a left hand that is absolutely facing the wrong direction. So when they are talking about his hold issues it’s always to do with his left hand.

“And until he corrects his left hand he’s not going to have a good time.”

Referring to his notes on the star’s latest performance, Gary said: “I’ve got ‘left hand in hold causing a multitude of issues’.

“Because it’s so obvious to so many pros out there saying the same thing.

“But he can improve his top 100 per cent by turning his hand about two inches.

“It’s frustrating because I’m a huge fan of Rhys and Nancy.

“I just think they keep on saying about the top but they are not telling him what he needs to do to put that right.”

Fans hit out at the Strictly judges following his latest performance, saying their critiques had turned “personal”.

The star danced the Quickstep to What A Man Gotta Do by the Jonas Brothers and he scored 34 out of 40.

Shirley Ballas made a comment about his “dropped” frame, with Anton Du Beke adding: “It has improved, it was awful, it’s only not bad now.”

Craig Revel Horwood reiterated that his frame does “let [him] down”.

Fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts, with Loved By You saying: “Anton??? You good bro? @bbcstrictly it’s starting to look personal against Rhys. #strictly”

CLA said: “Definitely Rhys’s best dance! The judges are far too harsh on him with their comments! #Strictly”

Strictly Come Dancing is back on BBC One tonight at 6.40pm
