Hollywood actress Sharon Stone announced her 11-month-old nephew River Stone passed away following total organ failure in August, and has steered clear of the spotlight since the tot’s devastating death
Sharon Stone has made her long-awaited return to the limelight for the Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards after the tragic death of her nephew.
In August, the Basic Instinct star took to Instagram to plead for a “miracle” as she revealed to her followers that her 11-month-old nephew River Stone was seriously ill in hospital after suffering “total organ failure”.
“My nephew and godson River Stone was found in his crib w total organ failure today. Please pray for him. We need a miracle,” she wrote alongside a photo of River intubated on a hospital bed.
Sadly, just a few days later, the 63-year-old actress revealed River had passed away, just a few days before his first birthday.
Sharon has kept a low profile since her nephew’s tragic death, but returned to the red carpet on Saturday as she attended the Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards in London.

The actress marked her return to the limelight by wearing a gorgeous black belted gown, which highlighted her age-defying figure as she wowed onlookers with her show-stopping appearance.
She looked sensational as she attended her first-ever Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards, and told the Daily Mirror she was “very excited” to be presenting the Prince’s Trust Young Achiever Award to former Syrian refugee Hassan Alkhawam, who has helped other vulnerable families since arriving in the UK in 2017.
“What an amazing young man to be so courageous and so compassionate and generous through his own efforts to change his own life. He is willing to give so much to change others, that’s pretty unusual and pretty wonderful especially through these difficult times,” she shared.
The actress also said she was looking forward to catching up with her old friend Simon Cowell during the star-studded awards bash, as they’re seated on the same table.
“I haven’t seen him in years and I’m thrilled to get to see him. It’s really lovely to see people again and realise that if we get vaccinated, if we take Covid tests we really can safely see each other again,” Sharon added.
Last month, the Oscar-winning actress revealed that River’s donated organs had gone on to save three lives, and she said it had “saved” their family.
The youngster was the son of Sharon’s younger brother Patrick, and she told People that while people may frown upon their decision to donate his organs, it was a move that has helped them heal in the weeks since his death.

“The fact that my godson was able to save three lives, two infants and a 45-year-old man, was a sanctuary for our family,” she told People.
“I can only say that you never, never know when a tragedy will happen in your life or in your family, but this opportunity to be an organ donor, it saved us, saved our family,” the Casino star added.
The actress is mother to three adopted sons – Quinn, 15, Laird, 16, and Roan, 21 – and she previously revealed that motherhood “didn’t come easily”.
“Motherhood didn’t come easily, but it came lovingly to me by angels. We’re a happy and lucky family. That is the credo we stand for,” Sharon stated.
