Real Housewives of Cheshire star Tanya Bardsley has quit the popular ITV show after six years because of a behind the scenes battle that has impacted her health and anxiety.

The 40-year-old has been a main fixture on the show since it started, but has now made the tough decision to walk after she has battled health and anxiety outside of the show.

The Sun reported that a source revealed that Tanya has made up her mind and will be exiting the popular show when she’s finished the current series.

The source also revealed that she will appear in the reunion show “but nothing more than that”.

Tanya is married to Phil Bardsley

The source continued: “Tanya has been really struggling with her anxiety recently, it got bad over lockdown and she just really wants to concentrate on herself.

“Her recent collapse really scared her and she knows she can’t continue juggling so many plates.

“She loves the show but it is really stressful at times and it just feels like the right time for her to walk away.”

This comes after Tanya collapsed during a shoot due to overworking, something that happened around two months ago.

The hardworking mum-of-four worried her loved ones when she collapsed while on set for her shoot.

At the time of the incident the stunning star revealed former Manchester United player Phil Bardsley, her husband, made sure she took time off.

The TV personality has been open and candid about her struggles

Taking to social media, she posted a snap from the day where she said: “The @myglamstyleuk photoshoot I will never forget.”

Opening up in a candid way about what happened she explained: “One minute in the studio the next minute in a ambulance, I collapsed from stress from over working and basically trying to be perfect in every area of my life, mum, wife, business woman, carer for poorly relatives, my brain and body shut down as a warning.”

She then concluded: “I’m having a few days off my phone so sorry to any1 if I don’t reply to messages and emails @phil_bardsley is forcing me to rest.”

Tanya has been a fixture on the show since it begun

The stunning TV star has been open and candid about her battle with poor mental health and depression, and even on the show she has been shown having therapy and talking about taking medication.

This comes as she recently revealed she had been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), which came to light after years of battling anxiety.

While talking about it on the reality show, she explained that she’d quit booze to ‘level out’ her medication.

Taking to Instagram she said: “Apple juice in a champers glass stops everyone mithering you to drink.”

She told fellow housewives Rachel Lugo, Nicole Sealey, Lauren Simon and new housewife Debbie Davies: “I have been diagnosed with ADHD so I’m just trying to level my medication out and stuff. I’d been medicated for anxiety and depression in the past.

Tanya rose to fame in the early 2000s when she appeared in the pages of lads magazines.

The brunette beauty even made the cut for FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women in the World in the years 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007.

She has since made a name for herself on The Real Housewives of Cheshire, as well as her social media pages like her Instagram account.
