Moment angry family attack doctor after Covid victim died ‘from lack of oxygen’ in India – World News

This is the moment 20 family members of a Covid victim attacked a young doctor outside an Indian hospital over suspicions that he died due to a delay in oxygen.

The medic, identified locally as 25-year-old Dr Siddhant Totla, had been treating a 65-year-old man with suspected Covid-19 in an ambulance on the way to hospital.

He was reportedly surrounded by the victim’s relatives and set upon with objects including a metal pole in front of horrified witnesses.

Sources claim the family members believed that the death happened due to a delay in providing oxygen.

But the doctor said the patient had passed away before he could be admitted to Prime Hospital in Pune, Maharashtra, India.

The family’s rampage was caught on CCTV

CCTV shows the doctor sprinting towards the entrance to the hospital while being bombarded with kicks and blows by the large group on Wednesday.

The group also allegedly vandalised a nearby security cabin during the rampage as members of the public watched in horror.

Police Inspector Shabbir Sayyed of the nearby Kondhwa police station, who is investigating the case, said: “The patient had been in a cardiac ambulance – the family members believed that the death happened due to a delay in providing oxygen in the ambulance.
