Kardashians remain silent over Astroworld tragedy as only Kylie issues statement

The Kardashian family have remained silent over the Astroworld tragedy that saw eight people die and hundreds injured.

The event, which took place in Houston, Texas on Friday, is now under investigation by police, but the Kardashians have remained silent despite Travis Scott being Kylie Jenner’s partner.

Kris Jenner, Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian have remained completely silent on the tragic event – which many people are confused over due to the fact that Travis is Kylie’s partner and father to Stormi, as well as Kylie’s expectant child.

Astroworld Festival was a bumper event that took place on November 5 and was supposed to continue through to the following day. With headline acts like Travis Scott, Tame Impala, Earth Wind & Fire, SZA and Young Thug, as well as many more – the sold out event was a festival aimed at young people.

In fact, on November 5 Kris Jenner was highly active on social media, thanking loved ones for bouquets and gifts as she celebrated her 66th birthday.

Astroworld was full of thousands of young people, meaning that most of the victims were under 40, with the youngest just 14 years old.

The family of 16-year-old Brianna Rodriguez, an Astroworld Festival attendee and victim, spoke of their “profound sadness” over the event that saw Brianna tragically taken from them.

It’s been reported that a person in the audience was injecting a foreign substance into some of the audience, which may have led to some of the tragic happenings that night.

Travis’ statement read: “I’m absolutely devastated by what took place last night. My prayers go out to the families and all those impacted by what happened at Astroworld Festival.”

He continued: “Houston PD has my total support as they continue to look into the tragic loss of life.

“I am committed to working together with the Houston community to heal and support the families in need.

“Thank you to the Houston PD, Fire Department and NRG Park for their immediate response and support.”

“Love You All,” he concluded.

While Kylie’s statement, that was posted onto her Instagram stories, read: “Travis and I are broken and devastated. My thoughts and prayers are with all who lost their lives, were injured or affected in anyway by yesterday’s events.

“And also for Travis who I know cares deeply for his fans at the Houston community.”

She continued: “I want to make it clear we weren’t aware of any fatalities until the news came out after the show and in no world would have continued filming or performing.”

“I am sending my deepest condolences to all the families during this difficult time and will be praying for the healing of everyone who has been impacted.”

Travis has said he is working to help the victims’ families, although this hasn’t stopped several attendees from reportedly suing him and the promoters for damages.

At the time of publishing, the Kardashian/Jenner family (aside from Kylie) are still yet to comment on the tragic events that took place at Astroworld Festival.
