The Liverpool legend has explained how Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham would be his ideal signing and does not care if he has to wait until the summer for it to happen
Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher has identified Borussia Dortmund’s teenage sensation, Jude Bellingham, as his ideal Reds signing and is not phased by which window it occurs in.
The Anfield favourite was taking part in a question and answer session with his 1.8m Twitter followers when he was asked “One player or position Liverpool should sign this window??”.
Carragher was firm in his response insisting former Birmingham City midfielder Bellingham would be his ideal candidate for the next arrival on the red half of Merseyside.
Ex-Liverpool star Carragher wrote in reply: “Jude Bellingham & the summer window is fine for me!”, revealing he is willing to wait until the summer for Liverpool to mount a serious move for the teenager.

Bellingham has enjoyed a meteoric rise to footballing superstardom since his switch from Championship outfit Birmingham back in the summer of 2020.
The midfielder became one of the youngest active participants in a European Championship tournament after he featured on multiple occasions for Gareth Southgate’s England side at Euro 2020.
Both before his move to Dortmund and since Bellingham has attracted interest from a lengthy list of potential suitors that contains just about every major European side.
According to the Liverpool Echo, those at the top of the Reds hierarchy have thrown their hat in the ring when it comes to the race for Bellingham’s signature.
Given his current Dortmund contract does not expire until the summer of 2025 it is likely to take an astronomical fee into tempting Dortmund to cash in on the talent.
Such is the midfielder’s technical ability, it is expected to take at least a bid of £90m to prompt Dortmund into letting Bellingham depart anytime soon.
Much to the annoyance of Carragher, those kinds of figures are rarely offered by Liverpool who have built their recent success off the back of being shrewd in the window instead of forking out huge transfer fees.
Bellingham enjoyed a stellar 2021 as he finished runner-up to Pedri of Barcelona in the 2021 Kopa Trophy which is awarded to the best under-21 male player as voted for by previous winners of the Ballon d’Or.
However, he was embroiled in controversy towards the tail-end of the calendar year after comments he made in the wake of Dortmund’s controversial derby defeat by title rivals Bayern Munich in December.
The 18-year-old addressed a match-fixing scandal from 2005 that involved the referee for their clash against Bayern and duly prompted a £40,000 fine as punishment from the Bundesliga for the remarks.
