Harry Styles helps fan come out to mom during concert

Harry Styles is out here changing lives — again.

The Grammy-winning artist helped one fan come out as gay to her mom via Jumbotron during his Wednesday night concert in Wisconsin.

During the “Love on Tour” show, Styles spotted 23-year-old fan McKinley McConnell’s sign at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, pleading for him to break the news to her mom, who also attended the show.

“My mom is in Section 201. Help me come out,” read McConnell’s sign, which was written in red paint and decorated with numerous pink hearts.

Her mom Lisa, who was seated several sections behind her daughter, apparently didn’t see her McConnell’s sign at first, but Styles did — and stopped the show to make good on the request.

Footage of the heartwarming interaction was shared on social media, in which Styles, 27, can be seen kneeling down at the edge of the stage to address McConnell down in the pit (lucky lady!).

“What would you like to tell your mother?” he asked McConnell, a college student in California. “I can tell her if you’d like.”

Excited fans shouted on as McConnell began, nervously, “Okay, there’s a lot of people!”

The amused Styles egged her on: “There is a lot of people. Did you not know? Did you think this through?”

He continued, “Okay, do you want to tell her, or should I tell her?” he asked again. “I can tell her, yeah, no problem.”

He pranced to the other side of the stage to address mom, several sections beyond, who quickly appeared on the screen above.

Not missing a beat, Style announced, “Lisa, she’s gay!” as the crowd erupted in cheers. From the Jumbotron, Lisa can be seen sheepishly covering her face in her hands — seemingly in disbelief — then lifting her head to blow a kiss towards the stage and her daughter below.

“Now, I don’t want to ruin the moment, but wouldn’t it be nice if you were a little bit closer together,” Styles added.

McConnell later told NBC News that she and mother had flown from Los Angeles, apparently missing his set of shows there, to attend the show in the Midwest — and that’s why they were seated so far apart.

“I literally got her the ticket so last minute,” she said. “I was lucky to get a ticket for the general admission pit for myself. I know my mom, and she wouldn’t have been up for the pit.”

McConnell also told the news outlet that her mom wasn’t entirely surprised. “You always had a flair for dramatics,” said mom, according to McConnell.

“I’m really beyond blessed that both my parents are so supportive,” McConnell added. “And I think they probably always suspected, even though you try to act like they don’t. She just kept saying she loves me and is proud of me.”

The fan shared the moment on social media with a message of gratitude: “Thank you for creating a safe place for me. thank you for letting me grow along side [sic] you as a fan. thank you for helping me know who i am. thank you,” she wrote.

She added in a follow-up tweet that mom is “overjoyed & also wanted everyone to know she had the best time & couldn’t stop dancing.” Lisa also managed to snag some sweet Styles swag.

Styles has become the messenger of choice for fans who want to come out the world, according to multiple outlets, including one recent event in Connecticut and, previously, in 2018 — in which he delivered the news the same way: “Tina, she’s gay!”
