This Morning: Holly and Phil shocked at Gino’s cheeky comment

This Morning viewers have hit out at Gino D’Acampo over comments he made about Holly Willoughby ’s vagina during a segment on the show.

The 45-year-old chef left the 40-year-old presenter and her 59-year-old co-host Phillip Schofield gobsmacked when he made crude remarks about Holly’s body.

And viewers were equally shocked – and outraged – over the bizarre segment which aired on Tuesday morning.

Fans of the show watched as Holly joined Gino in the This Morning kitchen where the chef then utilised the blonde star’s body to illustrate points on the map of Italy.

This Morning fans were disgusted by Gino D’Acampo’s comment’s about Holly Willoughby’s body

Pointing to Holly’s shoulder, Gino declared: “In the Piedmont region here is where the Savoiardi biscuit comes from.”

He continued, pointing to her other shoulder: “On the other side is Treviso.”

Perhaps encouraging childish comments, Phil then chimed in to warn: “I’m really concerned if he’s going to talk about Sicily here.”

But Gino then pointed down to Holly’s heels, saying: “No, Sicily is all the way down there!”

He then continued: “But if your belly button is Rome – I was born in Naples which is on your side,” he said placing his hand by his own side.

Then moving his own hand down towards his own groin, Gino went on: “But I went to school which is where the Vesuvius is, so it’s more inland.”

He then remarked: “So, I can technically say that I spent my youth training and playing around your vagina.”

Holly and Phil both then exclaimed: “Oh my God!”

While Phil chastised him, exclaiming: “Gino D’Acampo!”

Phil initially lowered the tone by referencing ‘Scissile’

Defending himself, Gino said: “There’s nothing wrong with that! It’s just a word that everybody knows and that’s what I’ve been doing geographically.”

While there were giggles from Holly, Phil and the This Morning crew throughout the segment, viewers watching at home were not impressed – and took to Twitter to slam the Italian chef.

One raged: “Why is @thismorning’s Gino D’Acampo still employed? He is a sexist pest who should be absolutely ashamed of himself and he has been inappropriate many times, none of the producers on This Morning can claim they didn’t see this coming! #ginodacampo #mysogynist #sexualharrassment [sic]”

Another blasted: “Why is Gino so disgusting he’s not funny! Get him off TV!”, while a further fan wrote: “Gino is a total pig”

Another tweeted: “It isn’t what he said it’s the fact that it was deemed ok to say it to Holly live on the TV.”

And another added: “It’s not funny and it’s not clever.”

Holly and Phil were both shocked by Gino’s comment

Others questioned if such sexually sensitive conversation would be tolerated in other work places – with one viewer tweeting: “If someone said this to you in any workplace it just wouldn’t be acceptable.”

While many other noted that Holly appeared “uncomfortable” during the segment of the ITV daytime magazine show.

This Morning airs on ITV every week day at 10am
