Ed Sheeran sets up Music Foundation charity for Suffolk children in 2020

Ed Sheeran has revealed his desires to welcome more children with his beloved wife Cherry Seaborn.

The Shape Of You hitmaker, 30, is already a proud father to the couple’s one-year-old daughter Lyra, but he’s set his sights on welcoming more kids into the Sheeran clan.

Although Ed is keen to get the ball rolling and have as many kids as he can, he has admitted that ultimately, the decision is down to his wife – because it’s ‘her body’.

Ed, who previously praised Cherry, 28, for being a ‘wonderful mother’, told that he adores fatherhood, and right now, his main focus is being a dad.

“I’d love more kids man, I’d love it, but it does all depend on what Cherry wants too because it’s her body,” the singer told The Sun.

“I’m really proud of Cherry as a mother. She’s such an incredible human, I’m just in awe.”

Lovebirds Ed and Cherry welcomed their baby girl Lyra in September 2020.

And since becoming a first-time dad, Ed has continued to be inspired and motivated by his daughter – so much so that he’s shed a whopping 5st after turning his lifestyle around.

The Suffolk singer credits his little one for showing him perspective and what life is all about.

Before Lyra came along, Ed piled on the pounds and tipped the scales at 15st while he lived on a diet of wine, beer, and fried foods.

However, when Cherry fell pregnant, Ed knew he had to change for the good of his daughter.

The Lego House singer swapped boozy nights out for quiet nights in as he started to look after himself for the first time in a long time.

“Since becoming a dad I’ve become quite clean-living. But I think actually taking time off and not being on tour was the worst thing for my health because I would drink every single day,” Ed explained.

“I stopped three months before Lyra was born because I was determined I was going to be the person to drive my wife to the hospital. I was 15-and-a-half stone at my peak and I think I’m ten-and-a-half now – I was big, it really showed.

“Lyra has been the biggest motivation in terms of detoxing my life, and I think it’s a change everyone needs to go through if they’re a parent.”
