EastEnders star Clair Norris had The Weakest Link host Romesh Ranganathan in hysterics as she gave a rather funny answer to a question during tonight’s celebrity special
EastEnders’ Clair Norris has Romesh Ranganathan in hysterics on The Weakest Link tonight.
The actress – who plays Bernadette Taylor in the BBC One soap – has the show’s host in fits of laughter during tonight’s episode, after she was quizzed about celebrity baby names for the BBC show.
Clair – who was appearing alongside fellow celebs Michelle Collins, Nikki Fox, Dev Griffin, Clair Norris, Chris Packham, Gemma Cairney and Dick and Dom – had the comedian laughing as she got the question about Cheryl Tweedy and Kate Winslet’s sons very wrong.
As part of the quiz show, where the celebrities work together to bank cash for their charities, she is asked in a clip shared exclusively with The Mirror: “Singer Cheryl and the actress Kate Winslet both gave birth to boys and named them after what animal?”
The correct answer is Bear – but Clair answers “a pig”, leaving her co-stars laughing. As she realises her mistake, a smile forms on her face as she tries not to laugh.
As Romesh ends the round, they all try not to laugh as he confirms they had banked a total of £850 out of a possible £2500 on offer. “And I am seriously going to think about calling my next kid Pig,” Romesh added.
The rest of the show’s cast burst into laughter as Clair admits: “I didn’t focus on the question!”
Romesh adds: “You went there and said, I think someone would call their kid – not just pig – but a pig.” The rest of the cast couldn’t hold in their laughter as the camera pans to show Clair doubled over in fits of giggles.
It comes after EastEnders bosses confirmed Bernadette will return to the show next year.
The soap confirmed that pregnant teen Bernie will be making her return to Walford ahead of her due date, after fleeing for some time away earlier this year. But will she hand the baby over to surrogate parents Stuart and Rainie Highway?
She has been out of the soap since earlier this year after sources confirmed to The Mirror at the time that Clair would just be taking a temporary break from the soap – rather than a permanent one.
*The Weakest Link continues on Thursday 30 th December at 6.25pm.
