Struggling Manchester United pair Jadon Sancho and Donny van de Beek both shared a warm embrace, after both starring in United’s vital 2-0 away victory against Villarreal
Donny van de Beek and Jadon Sancho are two players who have encapsulated the last few weeks at Manchester United.
Both stars were either struggling for minutes, or were struggling during their minutes, as United’s form plummeted in the final weeks of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ’s reign.
Their facial expressions conveyed a thousand words when the camera panned around to the duo sitting on the Old Trafford bench, as their teammates struggled on the pitch.
However, caretaker manager Michael Carrick started both players in United’s crucial 2-0 Champions League away win against Villarreal.
And after Sancho finally scored his first goal for the Red Devils, Van de Beek was the happiest person in Spain, as he embraced the struggling Englishman after the final whistle.

Van de Beek beelined towards the 21-year-old at the end of the match and shared a warm embrace with the Englishman.
It was touching moment between two quality players, whose respective starts to life at Old Trafford have been extremely turbulent.
Carrick also joined the United pair’s warm embrace, after winning his first match of his caretaker reign.
The former United midfielder made a bold statement, when he decided to deploy van de Beek ahead of Bruno Fernandes, and Sancho ahead of the impressive Mason Greenwood.
It was only the third time Sancho had played 90 minutes for United since his summer arrival from Borussia Dortmund.
And the dynamic winger certainly repaid his new manager’s faith with a wonderful strike to seal the victory for United.
The £73m man finally broke his Manchester United goal duck when he fired an unstoppable piledriver off the underside of the crossbar to double United’s lead over Unai Emery’s men.
His first ever goal for the Reds came barely four minutes after Cristiano Ronaldo capitalised on a defensive error and lobbed goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli to put the Reds ahead at the Estadio de la Ceramica.
Sancho’s celebration after netting the second conveyed relief just as much as it did joy – he would not have been the only person affiliated with United to breathe a sigh of relief.
While the victory over last season’s Europa League winners was not a match to live long in Red’s history, it was a significant three points considering the circumstances.

Victory was an absolute must for the Red Devils, as a defeat to the Yellow Submarine would have seen their slender lead at the top of Group F blown away.
However, the three points over the La Liga giants and Atalanta’s surprise 3-3 draw against Young Boys, mean United have already qualified for the knockout stages.
If they can overcome Young Boys in their final group match at Old Trafford, they will top Group F and possibly avoid some big hitters in the next round.
Carrick’s first Premier League match will be another baptism from hell, as United take on current table toppers Chelsea.
Thomas Tuchel’s side also sealed their progress into the Champions League quarterfinals, by hammering Italian giants Juventus at Stamford Bridge.
