Manchester United were humbled 4-2 by Leicester City on Saturday to end their long unbeaten away run but their star players David De Gea and Bruno Fernandes are now sending out a message of defiance
It was a difficult Saturday afternoon for Manchester United as they suffered a a 4-2 defeat in their trip to Leicester City .
The result brought an end to the club’s long unbeaten away record in the Premier League and brought renewed pressure to under-fire boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer .
The Red Devils are now without a win in three league matches, in which they have collected just one point, and are now embarking on a challenging run of fixtures.
Mason Greenwood gave United an early lead with a superb individual strike but goals from Youri Tielemans and Caglar Soyuncu turned the game on its head.
Marcus Rashford levelled for Solskjaer’s men but the home side hit back with goals from Jamie Vardy and Patson Daka to claim a deserved victory.
United were recently downed at home by Aston Villa before being held at Old Trafford by Everton, who were only denied the three points due to Yerry Mina’s goal being – correctly – ruled out for offside.
Solskjaer’s side had picked up 13 points from their opening five league matches but their form since has put the Norwegian coach under pressure at Old Trafford.
United’s players are now moving to put out a rallying message of defiance and are pledging that they will stick together and attempt to bounce back in the games ahead.
Among the players to post messages following the loss at the Foxes were goalkeeper David De Gea and playmaker Bruno Fernandes, both of whom have been ever present players in the league for the side so far this season.
De Gea posted on his social media page: “We are stronger together. We stay UNITED and we fight for this shirt. Time to react.”

His teammate Fernandes wrote on his Twitter account: “We can only raise from this series of negative results by standing together and United. That’s what we’ll do. #mufc”
After yesterday’s match, midfielder Paul Pogba was critical of the team for conceding “easy goals and stupid goals” during the defeat.
The French midfielder told reporters: “To be honest we have been having this kind of game for a long time and we have not found what the problem is.
“We have conceded easy goals and stupid goals.”
Saturday’s defeat at Leicester was the start of a demanding run of fixtures which sees Atalanta visit Manchester on Wednesday before United host Liverpool in a crunch Premier League matches next weekend.
United then have trips to Atalanta and Tottenham before hosting Manchester City , before successive away trips to Watford , Villarreal and Chelsea .
