Roddy Ricch, who performed at the Astroworld Festival on Friday night in which eight people lost their lives, has revealed he plans to donate his earnings from the show to the families of the victims.

The singer took to the stage earlier in the day before tragic scenes saw members of the crowd die and others injured during Travis Scott’s set in Houston, Texas.

Now, the 23-year-old has took to Instagram to tell his followers of his plans.

Taking to his Instagram Stories, the rapper said: “”Please have the families of those who we lost yesterday reach out to @shawnholiday,” and tagged a member of his management team.

“I’ll b donating my net compensation to families of this incident. #Pray4Houston.”

The Grammy Winner, whose real name is Rodrick Moore Jr, performed on the Thrills Stage at NRG Park between 5.30 and 6pm, three hours before the incident.

Other performers from the event also took to social media over the weekend to share their own thoughts and shock at what unfolded.

Nine-time Grammy nominee SZA said on Twitter : “Speechless about last night I’m actually in shock [and] don’t even know what to say… just praying for everyone in Houston especially the families of those that lost their lives.”

Rapper and actor Master P shared two videos filmed on Friday and captioned his post: “Life is too short, tell your loved ones you love them when you walk out the door because you never know. #GODisGood #AstroWorldFestival.’

The 51-year-old, whose real name is Percy Miller, also shared his condolences ‘to those who lost their lives.

Rapper Travis Scott was onstage performing a set which included a guest appearance from rapper Drake when the fatal crush occurred.

Officials said a crowd began to rush towards the stage at about 9.15pm local time and revellers began passing out because they couldn’t breathe, KHOU reported.

A video showed how anxious fans had tried to get the attention of crew members at the event by climbing onto a camera tower.

Within 15 minutes, overwhelmed officials had declared a mass casualty incident because there were so many victims.

Houston Fire Chief Samuel Pena said hundreds of people were treated at the scene for injuries.

“The crowd began to compress toward the front of the stage, and people began to panic,” he said.

Mr Pena said there were around 50,000 people in the crowd when it happened.
