With the January transfer window little more than a month away, Mikel Arteta will be looking for any potential ways that he can bolster his squad
Mikel Arteta will be desperate for a response when his side face Newcastle in the Premier League on Saturday.
Arsenal’s 10 game unbeaten run came to a dramatic end when the Gunners were convincingly beaten 4-0 by Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at Anfield.
The January transfer window is fast approaching and Arteta will be thinking about ways that he can improve on the squad he already has.
Arteta continue to be linked with a whole host of big-name signings, while others have been linked with potential exits.
But who comes, and who goes, remains to be seen in the upcoming window.
Here, Mirror Football brings you the latest gossip from the Emirates.
Fiorentina won’t sell Vlahovic in January
Arsenal’s attempts to sign Fiorentina star Dusan Vlahovic have suffered a setback, according to reports in Italy.
CalcioMercato say Fiorentina want to keep hold of the 21-year-old striker under at least the end of the season.
Vlahovic scored twice on Sunday as La Viola beat AC Milan 4-3 at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, which took his Serie A tally to ten this season.
The Serbian striker continues to be linked with a whole host of European football’s biggest names including Manchester City and Tottenham, but the latest reports will be a big blow to all of them.
Sanches speaks out
Lille midfielder Renato Sanches has responded to transfer speculation linking him with a move to Arsenal.
Sanches was considered one of the brightest prospects in world football when he made the €35million switch to Bayern Munich as an 18-year-old in 2016.

The Portuguese midfielder then had a disappointing loan spell at Swansea, before salvaging his career in France with Lille, by helping the club win the Ligue 1 title last season.
While Sanches has been linked with several clubs, it’s Arsenal and AC Milan that are considered ‘serious’ contenders to sign the 24-year-old midfielder.
In a recent interview with L’Equipe, Sanches said: “When I arrived at Bayern, I was not ready to play in such a club.
“I was very young, and when I got ready, the opportunity to play with this team never came.
“Today I feel ready. I understand football better, I have more experience, I know what to do to play in this kind of club and that changes everything.
“Maybe Milan and Arsenal are interested but I don’t know.
“I spoke with my agent, I know which clubs are calling and which are not, but I can’t tell now. I know I’m ready.
“If an offer comes in, I’ll find out what’s best for me.”
Elneny to stay
Gunners midfielder Mohamed Elneny still has a future at the club, his father claims.
Elneny has been tipped for an Emirates exit in January after being linked with a move away from the club in the summer, but Elneny Sr has said Arteta wants the Egyptian to remain at Arsenal.
While Elneny Sr claimed his son’s short-term future is at Arsenal, he did add that he hopes the Arsenal midfielder will see out his playing days with Egyptian giants Al-Ahly.
“Arteta wants Mohamed to stay,” Elneny’s father told Shams TV. “He might need him in the coming period so he will remain until the end of the season.
“I hope that he will end his career at Al Ahly.”
