Adele was in tears as she made her return to the stage in front of a star-studded audience in London.

The 33-year-old singing sensation wowed fans during her filming for ITV’s An Audience With Adele, but not before she admitted to being nervous.

Taking to the stage, the Easy On Me singer confessed: “I’m so nervous,” before belting out some of her classic tunes.

She has been been open in the past about suffering stage fright and said: “I’m s***ting it! I’m so nervous!”

The occasion marked her first UK visit in two years and she was joined on stage by partner Rich Paul, 39.

The audience at the London Palladium was made up of a host of famous faces including Dua Lipa, Idris Elba and Michael McIntyre.

Adele’s long-time pal Alan Carr was also in attendance and joined the superstar on stage at one point.

She invited the comedian on stage to entertain the crowd while she had her make-up reapplied after she was left in tears after being reunited with a face from her childhood.

Alan took the opportunity to try out his own vocals as he attempted to sing Make You Feel My Love, much to the crowd’s amusement.

It was Adele’s first time on stage in the UK since 2017 and she confessed to needing an autocue to remember her own lyrics as it had been so long.

A source told The Sun : “Adele was playful and fun on stage but you could tell she was feeling the pressure.

“She sounded better than ever but there were a couple of false starts throughout the evening, whether that be because of tech issues or her nerves.

“But it was an absolutely incredible event – there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.”

Kate Garraway took to Instagram after the show to praise the musician. She said: “Wow, wow and wow… Adele you were beyond sensational tonight.

“Funny, moving and that VOICE! So thrilled to be in the audience (and what an audience – you’ll see it on ITV soon) to hear songs from the utterly brilliant new album 30 and of course her legendary classics.”

Another fan in attendance said: “Adele was really emotional to be back up on stage again and performing these new songs which are incredibly raw.

“She sang one track called Hold On which she said had helped her through the toughest times of her divorce.

“She said it makes her feel really proud now when she listens to it because she’s come such a long way to feel happy again.”

Her latest album was produced with songs about her 2019 split from ex-husband Simon Konecki.

However, eagle-eyed fans also spotted a ring on Adele’s left hand, sparking rumours that her and Rich are already engaged.
