Amanda Staveley meet and greet

Staveley briefly met the rest of the club staff at a meeting on Friday morning, where they were given a round of applause for purchasing the club.

She planned to meet Bruce and the squad then, but since they were off due to the international break, it had to be pushed back until Monday as she spent the weekend in London.

But she was able to finally meet the group today as she visited the training ground for the first time.

Staveley met Bruce and the squad, but it was business as usual ahead of the clash with Spurs.

Steve Bruce’s future up in the air

The Newcastle boss is expected to be relieved of his duties at some point this week, but no decision had been made as of Monday.

This left the Englishman in a difficult position but remained professional as he took charge of training.

No immediate decision has been made as the speedy nature of the takeover has left them somewhat behind on their preparations.

However, it’s reported he will be sacked before the match with Spurs with coach Graeme Jones taking charge of the first team as the new owners search for a replacement.

Martin Dubravka boost

In regards to matters on the field, Newcastle United will be delighted Martin Dubravka is nearing a comeback.

The keeper has been ruled out since the start of the season after undergoing foot surgery, but he took part in today’s session.

It remains to be seen when he will be match fit, but his return looks to be imminent.

Karl Darlow has been filling in for the 32-year-old in his absence, but Dubravka should reclaim his place in the side once he is back.

Callum Wilson nears return

Another player on the sidelines who stepped up his recovery on Monday is Callum Wilson.

The striker has been sidelined with a thigh injury since late August as his presence in front of goal has been sorely missed.

Wilson returned to light training last week but made significant progress as he took part in full training on Monday.

He is now on course to return for the game against Spurs.

Allan Saint-Maximin during the Newcastle United Training Session

Allan Saint-Maximin shuts out transfer noise

Allan Saint-Maximin has been linked with Chelsea over the weekend as his future remains up in the air.

The Frenchman has been holding down the fort in Wilson’s absence and has been Newcastle’s standout player.

His impressive performances have attracted attention from several clubs and the Blues are reportedly the latest team to take notice.

The new owners will be confident they can keep a hold of their prized asset, however, as their injection of cash will allow Newcastle to offer him an improved deal, as well as putting quality around the winger with new signings.
